Art-making as community building is a cornerstone to Meena’s artistic and social justice practice. She has worked with numerous organizations since 2002 in Montréal (South Asian Women's Community Center, Girls Action Foundation, YWCA, Elizabeth Frye Society, Engrenage Noir/LEVIER), Toronto (South Asian Visual Arts Center), Rio de Janeiro (Afro-Reggae), Niamey (Alternatif), and Los Angeles (Will Power to Youth). She has developed creative programs with racialized girls, youth, as well as criminalized women, that involve making collective films and performances.
