pouvoir = power; pou(x) = heartbeat; voir = to see

Description:

pou/voir is a contemporary Indian dance duet that explores our bodies as carriers of multiple psychological and emotional sites: sites of oppression, sites of victim-hood, sites of resistance, sites of abandonment, sites of loving. Building, breaking, shifting, and flowing between the multiple roles possible within the power dynamics shared between individuals/collective, pou/voir inspired itself from a unique hybrid movement vocabulary including bharata natyam, kalaripayattu, release, and post-modern.
